How to cancel your TurboTenant subscription

Sources checked October 5, 2026

Cancel from inside your account: open Settings, then Billing, select Manage Plan on your current plan, and choose Cancel Subscription. You keep the paid features through the end of the billing period you already paid for, then the account moves to the free plan. It stays open, and TurboTenant says existing leases and recurring charges stay in place. Checked against TurboTenant's help center and Terms of Use on 2026-10-05.

The right order

  1. Export what the paid plan gives you. Financial reports are a Pro feature, so pull them before the period ends. The TurboTenant export guide has the full list.
  2. Cancel before the renewal date. Paid plans are billed as a single annual charge and renew automatically unless you cancel before your renewal date. The Terms of Use say a renewal reminder goes out 30 days before.
  3. Cancel in Billing. Settings, then Billing, then Manage Plan, then Cancel Subscription. TurboTenant says you may see a brief questionnaire or another subscription offer before the cancellation completes.
  4. If the account is past due, contact support. While a subscription is past due, Manage Plan and Cancel Subscription are not available, and cancellation goes through TurboTenant's support team.
  5. If rent is moving elsewhere, stop payments tenant by tenant. Rent collection is part of the free plan, so tenants can keep paying through TurboTenant after you cancel. You cannot turn a tenant's Autopay off for them, but you can open the tenant and choose Disable Payments. TurboTenant says tenants are not notified when you do, so tell them where to pay.

Common questions

Will TurboTenant refund my subscription?

Do not count on it. TurboTenant's Terms of Use say all subscription fees are non-refundable. It does publish a refund request form and says it may issue a full or partial refund at its sole discretion, case by case.

What happens to my account after I cancel TurboTenant?

You keep the paid features through the end of the current billing period, then the account moves to the free plan. TurboTenant says the account remains open and that existing leases and recurring charges remain in place.

Do I lose my leases when I cancel?

No. TurboTenant says a lease you already completed can still be opened and downloaded after the subscription ends.

How do I close my TurboTenant account completely?

That is a separate step. TurboTenant says there is no self-service Close Account button in Settings and that closing an account and canceling a paid subscription are separate actions. You ask its support team to close the account, and you still cancel the subscription yourself.

Is TurboTenant billed monthly or yearly?

TurboTenant's help center says its paid plans are billed as a single annual charge at checkout.
