How to export your data from Stessa

Stessa exports through its Reports page. Pick a report, choose the properties and dates it covers, and click Download to save it as Excel or PDF. Which reports you can run depends on your plan, so pull the paid ones before you downgrade. Checked against Stessa's help center on 2026-10-05.

The steps

1. Start with the General Ledger. Stessa includes the General Ledger report on every plan. Run it for all properties and every year you need, and download it to Excel.
2. Add the income and cash reports. The Income Statement and Net Cash Flow reports are also on every plan.
3. Export the rent roll and tenant ledgers. The Rent Roll report is on every plan. For a tenant's charges, payments, and balance, go to the Reports page and select Tenant Ledger under Report Type.
4. Pull the plan-gated reports before you downgrade. Schedule E is on the Manage and Pro plans. The Balance Sheet, Capital Expenses, and Schedule of Real Estate Owned reports are Pro only.
5. Download your documents and receipts. Reports carry numbers, not the files behind them. Download the receipts and documents you are required to keep from where they are stored in Stessa. Stessa says signed DocuSign documents can be viewed and downloaded at any time.
6. Leave your bank connections alone. Stessa warns that when you delete a bank connection, all previously imported data is permanently removed and cannot be retrieved. If you want the feed to stop, use Stop Importing, which Stessa says does not delete previously imported data.

Stessa's pricing page lists full data export on all three plans, including the free one, but does not spell out what that file contains. The report downloads above are the documented route.
