How to cancel your Stessa subscription

Cancel Stessa from Settings, then Subscriptions: select Cancel, or choose a different plan. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle you already paid for, the account goes back to the free Essentials tier, and Stessa says your data stays intact. Checked against Stessa's help center on 2026-10-05.

The right order

Pull the paid reports first. Schedule E, the Balance Sheet, Capital Expenses, and the Schedule of Real Estate Owned are on paid plans. The Stessa export guide lists which plan has which.
Cancel before the renewal. Stessa says all plans renew automatically unless canceled in advance. Monthly plans renew with no prior notice. Annual plans get a reminder email before renewal.
Cancel in Settings. Go to Settings, then Subscriptions, and select Cancel.
Do not delete bank connections on the way out. Stessa says deleting a bank connection permanently removes all the data it imported. Stopping the import keeps the history.

Common questions

Will Stessa refund my subscription?

No. Stessa says no partial refunds or prorated credits are issued for cancellations. On an annual plan there are no refunds for unused time, and canceling stops the renewal at the next anniversary date.

What happens to my data when I cancel Stessa?

Stessa says the account reverts to the free Essentials tier and your data, including custom portfolios, remains intact. If you resubscribe later, your features and configurations are restored.

Does Stessa rent collection keep working after I downgrade?

Stessa's pricing page lists tenant autopay on all three plans, including the free one. Its help center does not say what happens to a tenant's scheduled payments when the landlord downgrades, so ask support before the billing cycle ends.

How do I delete my Stessa account completely?

That is a separate request. Stessa says to email support@stessa.com or use the in-app messenger, that account deletion is irreversible, and that it cannot process a deletion until all cash management balances are cleared.
